CARING FOR YOUR PIECES

Each piece from ‘Damian By Mischelle’ is handcrafted in our atelier by our team of specialist craftsman to truly European standards. We are confident that the combination of design, quality of workmanship and the stones incorporated into each piece is, however, unparalleled.

Clients should note that all of our fine jewelry does require special care if the beauty of the designs and the stones is too be preserved for subsequent generations.

WEARING YOUR PIECE

Remove any piece that is liable to be immersed in a solution, even if it is water. Softer stones such as Topaz will quickly absorb water thus creating stains that cannot be removed. A wide varieties of stones, as well as 18k gold, are also liable to chemical reactions with certain acids and alkalines that are found in household liquids. These include detergents, shampoos and bleach. Seawater also has a negative reaction with gold.

Avoid any situation that may involve the piece being struck or dropped. Stones vary in their hardness and some can be exceedingly brittle if subjected to the wrong treatment. In particular, Citrine, Topaz and Aquamarine are vulnerable to even mild knocks against hard metals or other refined compounds. Even diamonds, the hardest compound known to mankind, are vulnerable to breaking if dropped onto a larger mass of a softer stone – such as marble, for example.

On a practical note, clients are advised to put their jewelry on last. Clothes can get snagged, perfume can react with the gold and impatient partners can cause dangerous waving of arms and hands

STORING YOUR PIECE

Each piece from ‘Damian By Mischelle’ is delivered to its new owner with a silk storage bag. We urge all of our clients to use these when not wearing each piece. Whilst a traditional jewelry box seems like an attractive way to display pieces the reality is that stones and gold are vulnerable to being scratched by others in the same space.

Even for overnight trips we would advise against carry pieces loose in a handbag. Use one of the storage bags from ‘Damian By Mischelle’ for each and every piece. If you need more please contact us directly or via clients@damianbymischelle.com and we will arrange for more to be delivered to you.

EACH PIECE HAS A LIFETIME GUARANTEE

Every single piece carries a lifetime guarantee from ‘Damian By Mischelle’. Any defects that develop as a result of ordinary wear and tear will be repaired, free of charge, by our atelier. In the event that the damage has been caused by accident or mis-use, we will provide a quote within five days for the repair or re-setting of the piece.
